One of the benefits of the lockdown has been the reduction of road traffic in Inner London. Whereas we had standing traffic for a couple of hours in the morning and evening rush hours in the old normal, there are no rush hours anymore. The level of traffic has plummeted.
According to the Council, this has led to a dramatic fall in NOX levels. However, the level of particulate pollution has not fallen significantly. It will be interesting to see the research as to why this is?
